Portrait of a Graduate
This Portrait of the Graduate is an outline of the characteristics that our Board, administration, and faculty work to cultivate in our students. Through the tireless effort of our staff and the power of the Holy Spirit Graduates of Legacy Academy will be mature Christ followers who are highly educated and dedicated to making a difference in this world.
BEGINNING WITH THE END IN MIND
Goal setting is a recommended "best practice" in virtually every aspect of life. We are following this "best practice" as we work to develop and refine our curriculum each year.
We need to keep our eyes on the end goal.
In accordance with the vision and mission of Legacy Academy, in seeking to provide a distinctly Christian and Classical education, it is the hope of the school, that upon graduation from Legacy, each student will be:

MATURE CHRIST FOLLOWERS
It is our fervent prayer that graduates of Legacy Academy go on to be devoted disciples of Christ, loving the Lord God with all their hearts, souls and minds. Through a Legacy education, graduates will possess a strong foundation rooted in the Truth of Christ’s revelation. This foundation will then allow them to approach every situation they encounter with a sound biblical worldview in mind.
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Matthew 22:37
Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk inhim, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. Colossians 2-6-7
CIVICALLY MINDED CITIZENS
Graduates of Legacy Academy go on to be influential citizens who are heavenly minded, and yet capable of great earthly good. These graduates will cultivate the culture and shape it according to the coming kingdom of Christ.
But our citizenship is in heaven and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 3:20
VIRTUOUS SCHOLARS (ACADEMIC)
Graduates of Legacy Academy are lifelong virtuous scholars, who possess the tools of learning to assist them throughout their life. Through a classical Christian education, graduates are prepared to be independent critical thinkers who think well, speak well, and learn well. A Legacy education results in a mastery of effective communication, both through written and oral word.
By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established, by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. Proverbs 24:3-4
PURSUERS OF TRUTH, GOODNESS, AND BEAUTY
Graduates of Legacy Academy are rooted in wisdom and virtue, having a deep understanding that truth, goodness, and beauty are objective realities defined only by God as the Creator. Not only do graduates pursue truth (that which is in accord with reality), goodness (that which is fulfilling its designed purpose), and beauty (that which embodies characteristics of God), but they also delight in such things as Christ does. It is our goal for graduates of Legacy to see Christ’s fingerprints on all things, whether in literature or fine arts, and be drawn to a higher form of worship to the Almighty.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8
